Winter Chills Recede, Mercury Rises

Udaipur records a 2.6°C rise in minimum temperature as winter fades; IMD reports temperature rise across Rajasthan; Barmer hottest at 33.4°C

Udaipur, Feb 21, 2026 - Udaipur is witnessing a gradual shift in weather patterns with a noticeable rise in the temperatures. Winter chill is receding and the mercury is beginning to rise. Over the past 24 hours, the minimum temperature in the city was higher by 2.6 degrees from normal at 14°C. Most cities across the State are experiencing a rise in temperature and, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), both the maximum and minimum temperatures have increased by 2 to 3 degrees over the past 24 hours.

On Friday, Barmer recorded the highest maximum temperature at 33.4°C. The highest minimum temperatures were recorded in Barmer and Bikaner at 17.3°C and 17.2°C respectively. In Jaipur, the maximum temperature was 28.0°C, while the minimum temperature stood at 14.8°C.

In fact, the change in weather is being experienced across the country. The IMD forecast heavy rainfall in some parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala while isolated rainfall and snowfall are likely over the northern hilly regions.
