One out of 5 chinkaras that were brought from Jodhpur to Sajjangarh Biologcal Park died on Monday. This female chinkara was undergoing treatment.

As per sources, 5 chinkaras were brought to Sajjangarh Biologocal Park as the park had only 2 chinkaras earlier. One of these chinkaras could not stand properly and was being treated for this. The female chinkara delivered a baby just 15 days back.

While the 5 chinkaras were being brought from Jodhpur in a vehicle, they must have started playing inside the vehicle and that is how this female chinkara suffered fracture, opines forest department. Chinkaras are known for their extra playfulness and probably playing inside the vehicle caused damage to the female chinkara. As per CFO Rahul Bhatnagar, chinkaras were transported to Udaipur following all the standard norms of Central Zoo Authority.

In the exchange program of wild life as per rules, forest department had given a wild cat to Jodhpur against these chinkaras. With one chinkara gone, Sajjangarh Biologocal Park is now left with 6 chinkaras.
