Babulal Jajoo, State in-charge of People for Animal organisation has filed an FIR against Chaarbhuja temple administrators in Udaipur for illegal custody of Tortoise.

15 tortoise were rescued from the temple by officials from Forest department. Jajoo had in a statement demanded the release of tortoise from the temple in a jungle or biological park.

Readers may note that keeping tortoise is a punishable offence. The offence also amounts to a penalty under the Wildlife Protection act.
