Lion Safari Experience Begins at Sajjangarh Sanctuary

Udaipur, Feb 16, 2026 - Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, will inaugurate the Lion Safari, Reptile House and Rescue Centre at Sajjangarh Biological Park on Monday (February 16) at 4 pm. Officials from the Forest Department will be present during the ceremony.

This is the State’s first reptile house and for the first time in Rajasthan, rare reptiles will be on display at the Sajjangarh Biological Park within special glass enclosures. Visitors to the park can enjoy this attraction without an additional fee.

The lion safari will be a major highlight of Udaipur’s wildlife tourism and has reportedly been completed at a cost of Rs 3.45 crore. The safari area, located at the foothills of Sajjangarh Fort, is spread over 20 hectares in the sanctuary.
