Ranthambhore National Park is to stay open throughout the year as per the demands of Hotel Tourism lobby.

Ranthambhore park stays open from October to May every year. It stays closed for public during the rainy season. As per National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), the park needs to be left undisturbed during monsoons as this period is the breeding season for tigers. Human presence causes disturbance. Going against the weightful logic of NTCA, the Hotel tourism lobby is pressurising the department to allow full day safari and keep the park open throughout the year. There is a demand for the tiger zone (VIP zone 1 to 5) to be made open to public for the entire year. All the tiger reserves of the state are to follow the same from now on.

July to September, tiger reserves are kept closed because the tigers also need a private zone during their breeding season. They are likely to attack humans if their privacy is disturbed. Hence NTCA is not in favour of keeping the park open throughout which is a valid point. Contrary to this, the standing committee of State Wildlife Board said that the tiger park can be made open to the public even in the monsoons. According to them, since Rajasthan doesn’t have as much rainfall as Kerala, the park can be kept available to the public for safaris.
