Ranthambore Safari Sold Out Ahead of Tourism Season
Sept 9, 2025 - A new tourism season is set to begin at the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve from October 1. Forest Department officials, vehicle owners and drivers have begun preparations for it. While vehicle owners and drivers are getting their jeeps and canters repaired, Forest Department officials are finalising arrangements for smooth operations.
The advance preps have become necessary as the scenario ahead is looking very busy. The advance online booking is already completely sold out even before the season has started. Currently, the online booking system is showing a “no room” status for advance slots.
According to sources, advance bookings for October to December were opened earlier for tourists. And, owing to the overwhelming response, online bookings for this entire three-month period are now completely full. Now tourists only have the current (on-the-spot) booking option left. As a result, heavy demand for current and instant booking quotas is expected.
With major Indian festivals like Dussehra and Diwali falling in October, there will be public holidays — further increasing tourist footfall at Ranthambore. In December, the winter vacation and New Year celebrations are also expected to attract large crowds, making current booking slots highly competitive.
Safari/Visitor Figures
- 140 vehicles will be sent for park visits per safari shift (maximum)
- Over 3,000 tourists will visit the park daily
- Tourists will go on safaris in two shifts per day
- Over 470 tourism vehicles are currently operational in Ranthambore
