Rescued Vulture arrives in Gulab BaghA one-and-half month old vulture was rescued from Chittorgarh and brought to Udaipur’s Gulab Bagh Zoo today.

According to Pratap Singh Chundawat, DHO, who transferred the bird to Gulab Bagh, it is a Long Billed Vulture and was found from a wrecked nest near Chittorgarh Fort.

“New born of Vultures take their first flight after 6 months, hence, this vulture is still unable to fly and need extra care”, says Chundawat.

Vulture was shifted to zoo today afternoon.

The Long Billed Vultures are on edge of decline mainly due to the use of ‘diclofenac’ a veterinary drug used for cattle that works as a poison for Vultures.
