In what was inadvertently taken up as a major blunder, forest department officials placed a map at Sajjangarh Biological park that showed PoK as part of Pakistan. This map has gone viral on social media and has become a source of huge embarrassment for the forest officials.

Forest department officials had placed the map a couple of days back at the entrance gate of Sajjangarh Biological park. The map was placed to depict the 9 species of tiger on the global map. However, the map that the officials chose was a faulty one that depicted Pakistan occupied Kashmir as part of Pakistan.

The blunder caught a lot of tourist by surprise and very soon the map was on social media for everyone to share.

When the news reached the forest DFO Harini V., he immediately ordered forest officer Sujan Singh Soni and his team to reach the spot. The forest officials, however, said that there was nothing majorly wrong with the map and it was not to scale and hence it was not appearing properly.

Rahul Bhatnagar, CFO, when contacted, said that the map has since been removed.

This issue, however, is surprising as it was apparently a non scale map with a purpose of showing the tiger species on the global map, but tourists took the map image to social media and this resulted in embarrassment for the forest department, with social media rallies making it an issue.
