Jodhpur Zoo’s Dr. Shravan Singh Rathore informed that Monu was suffering from infection in his kidney and lungs and after diagnosis, Leptospirosis was found at minor level. For proper assessment the postmortem samples will be sent to Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bareilly.
Tiger Monu was brought to the Biological Park on 5th March in healthy conditions. Within 20 days, he was found unhealthy and his samples were sent on 28th March. The main cause was found out to be mice that afterwards were caught, 7 in numbers by the members of Kathodi family.
Every precaution was however, being carried out to cure Tiger Monu. The reasons for the mishap are considered to be the lack of CCTV cameras, unavailability of veteran doctors at the biological park and inadequacy of staff members.
