Rama, the white tiger brought 2 years back at Sajjangarh Biological Park from Chennai passed away due to prolonged illness.

Rama, the white tiger brought 2 years back at Sajjangarh Biological Park from Chennai passed away due to prolonged illness.

Rama had been ill for last month and a half. Rahul Bhatnagar, Chief Forest Conservator (Wildlife) informed that Rama had been diagnosed with Babesiosis about a month and a half back. Rama was being treated by Dr Karmendra Pratap Singh. During treatment, Rama was also found to have kidney infection.

Specialists from IVRI were called in for Rama’s treatment. Though Rama did show initial signs of improvement, his health condition started deteriorating over the past few days.

Deputy Forest Conservator, Harini V informed that Rama’s post mortem was carried out after death and kidney failure emerged as the primary reason. Rama’s body has been sent to laboratory for further investigation.
