A mishap at Boharwadi Nohra at 11 AM today took the life of an elderly man and injured his granddaughter after they both fell down from the first floor of their house.

The incidence occurred at the residence of Sajjad Hussain aged 104 years, who was standing at the first floor of his house with his granddaughter Salma (26). An almirah was being shifted from the ground floor to the first floor, after removing the iron grill that was separating the two floors.

According to the sources, Salma who was standing near the open gap accidentally fell down and received injuries on her head and jaw. The workers shifting the almirah helped her and while they were on their way to take her to the hospital, Sajjad, who was in his room came out hearing the commotion. Standing near the gap to ascertain the situation, his leg also slipped and he fell down on the ground floor.

Both were immediately rushed to the MB Hospital where Sajjad Hussain was declared dead and Salma was later taken to Geetahjali Hospital for her treatment. The community members are yet to decide for the postmortem of Sajjad Hussain.

His son runs a hardware business at Kunwaria village and Salma used to stay with him at his Boharwadi Nohra residence. Wedding preparation of his grandson Fakro was taking place at the residence which was due 1 week from today.
