A 16-year-old student has committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her house in Maha Pragya Vihar, Sukher. No suicide note has been found from her room, however prolonged mental depression is alleged to be the cause of her death.

Daughter of a Railway Training School employee, her mother is a teacher at a government school. Both of her parents were away at work and she was alone at home when she allegedly committed suicide, after locking up the main gate of their residence.

Today early afternoon, when both of her parents reached home, they found the door was locked from inside; after knocking several times there was no response.

At last, help was asked from the neighbors who helped in breaking open the door. Her body was taken down and laid on the bed and police was informed.

Sukher Police, led by SHO Ram Sumer reached the spot and started investigations. The Police also asked several questions to the victim’s parents and lodged a case.

According to the statement given by Ayushi’s parents, she was under depression from several months and her treatment was also going on.
