18 killed in tragic road accident, 25 injured
A catastrophic road accident took place at Dhulapani area on Saturday evening leaving 18 laborers killed in the mishap out of which 6 were killed on the spot while the others died on the way to the hospital. The remaining 25 people including 16 men and 9 women are receiving treatment at MB hospital.
A catastrophic road accident took place at Dhulapani area on Saturday evening leaving 18 laborers killed in the mishap out of which 6 were killed on the spot while the others died on the way to the hospital. The incidence took place at around 7 PM at Dhulapani area where a speeding mini truck full of laborers rammed into a parked truck. The accident was so intense that it killed 6 people on the spot while the severely injured cases died on the way to the Udaipur hospital.
The 43 laborers in the mini truck after finishing their routine work at Eta ka Talab area, Choti Sadri were returning home. Soon after the accident, a crowd of villagers reached on the spot and started the rescue work. Later, police and 108 ambulance service arrived for help.
Upon getting the information of the mishap, SP Choti Sadri- Kaluram Rawat, AdSP Ratan Singh and ADM Anurag Bhargava rushed to the scene. The victims that died were identified as Hariram Meena (driver), Kanta Meena, Narayani, Girgi, Sugna, Amri, Jamna, Genda and Raju.
According to the information received, the injured were first rushed to the hospital at Choti Sadri but due to severe injuries were referred to Udaipur hospital who tragically died on the way.
ADM Anurag Bhargava announced a compensation amount of Rs. 50,000 for the family of those who died and Rs. 10,000 for the injured.
