In two different incidents that occurred today, a body of a woman and a man were found in Pichola and Fatehsagar respectively. Both bodies were pulled out and transferred to the mortuary. According to Ghantaghar Police station, upon getting information that a female body was found floating in Pichola Lake near Ghangaur Ghat, the police team reached there and pulled out the body.
The deceased woman was wearing traditional attire and jewelry and seemed to be a villager. The Police is considering it as an accident of drowning.
[UPDATE] 12-6-13 The deceased woman is identified as 65-year-old Naji Bai, resident of Badgaon, she was mentally ill and was taken to MB Hospital for treatment. She was missing from hospital since she was left unattended. In another incident, a 47-year-old man identified as Ashok Chawla, resident of Sector 11 died due to drowning in Lake Fateh Sagar.
According to Police, the relatives of the deceased informed that Ashok left the house yesterday to take a bath in Fatehsagar. When he didn’t return home, his brother started searching and found Ashok’s clothes lying at the Fatehsagar Paal. Suspicious that his brother had drowned in the lake, he informed the police. After hours of search operations, Chawla’s body was found. The Police also informed that the death is being primarily considered as suspected suicide.
