Two cars collided head-on at the Mangalwad crossing 70 kms from Udaipur at 8:30pm today, killing 3 people on the spot and injuring the other passengers, two of them seriously.

A Swift belonging to a family from Vajmiya village collided head-on with a Skoda Rapid on its way from Gujarat to Chittor.

The passengers numbering 8 in the Swift were going towards their home in Vajmiya village after attending a religious gathering (Prasaadi) at the Mataji Mandir in Mangalwad.

3 persons in the Swift, viz. Ghanshyam Singh, Moti Singh and Vijay Singh died on the spot while their co-passengers viz. Megh Singh, a senior citizen, Ankit Singh aged 4 years, Lal Singh and Narayan Singh were injured. Lal Singh is seriously injured. The injured have been rushed to MB Hospital.

Akash and the other injured in the Rapid were also rushed to MB Hospital for treatment.

The bodies of the dead persons have been transferred to the Mortuary.
