A 30 year old woman committed suicide by setting herself on fire last Sunday. Parents and relatives of the victim though claim that it wasn’t a suicide.

Victim woman was mother of a child and was staying with her husband under the ‘Nata’ custom prevailing in the tribal areas. The couple was staying at Ghanoli village of Dabok from last 2 years.

The husband of the victim was allegedly alcoholic, as per Tilla Ram, father of the deceased.

Tilla ram also informed that 1.5 months back, his daughter and her husband had an argument and after that she came to her parental house. The matter was settled by court and the couple got united.

Since then, there was no communication between the parents/relatives and the victim. Today morning they got information of the mishap through police.

Upon getting the information, Tilla ram and his son rushed to the Ghanoli, and then to the mortuary where postmortem of the dead body was conducted, informed Tilla Ram.

Beside this, Bhanwar Lal Chopda, Up Tehsildar, Mavli informed that he came to mortuary for the investigation of the matter on the orders of SDM, Mavli. They got the information of suicide, but after reaching the mortuary the relatives of the deceased raised a doubt on her husband for killing her.

On relative’s demand, Dabok police has been ordered to register a case and start its investigation. The actual situation will be clear once the investigation is over.
