4 Devotees killed in road accident at Sirohi

A Bolero carrying 13 people crashed with a truck near Sirohi today killing four persons and injuring seven people while on their way to Ram Devra. The accident was so severe that the bodies, which were trapped inside the vehicle wreckage were pulled out using a crane.

All injured have been rushed to MB Hospital, Udaipur while the deceased were shifted to the mortuary of Sirohi hospital. Several people including locals, social organizations, police and administration rushed on the spot to assess the situation and rescue the victims.

The injured belong to the Balai community and their names are Shobhalal, Madanlal, Chenram, Bansilal, Lalaram, Bherulal and Sirlal.

According to sources, it was around 6 AM when a Bolero carrying thirteen people, all residents of Bhat Kotdi, Nimbaheda was going to Ram Devra, a temple of Bhagwan Ram Dev near Pokhran. A truck was seen coming forward after overtaking another vehicle and smashed into the Bolero, the accident occurred 6km far from Sirohi.

Two ambulances including a 108-Service and one of Mali Samaj, Sirohi rushed to the spot. Sirohi district collector Bamalal with senior police officials also reached the place of accident.

The truck driver is absconding while the police has seized the vehicle and lodged a case.

UPDATE: Bansilal who was injured in the accident and was under going treatment, was declared dead by Doctors later in the day.
