45 students fall sick after consuming Ratanjot Seeds

The school outing turned bitter, when 45 students of Dudu Village, Jaipur district mistakenly consumed the poisonous seeds of Ratanjot, near a temple situated at Ghasiyar, Udaipur. The students were rushed to MB Hospital’s emergency department for treatment.

The school outing turned bitter, when 45 students of Dudu Village, Jaipur district mistakenly consumed the poisonous seeds of Ratanjot, near a temple situated at Ghasiyar, Udaipur. The students were rushed to MB Hospital’s emergency department for treatment.

According to sources, a group of 73 students from Shree Ganesh Senior Secondary School, Dudu village, Jaipur were on Udaipur Tour from last two days; today the group went to visit a temple at Ghasiyar.

While, some students were helping their teacher in preparing food, few of the students started playing nearby and discovered Ratanjot seeds and erroneously identified them as cashew nuts.

Soon after consuming the seeds, students started complaining vomiting and diarrhea. All of them were immediately rushed to MB Hospital.

One of the teachers Ramjeevan Jat, accompanying students told that, students came to him and also offered Ratanjot.
