A 4 year-old child was left abandoned at Pediatric ward of MB Hospital yesterday. The child is mentally handicapped and is under care of hospital staff.

The police have been informed about the incident and soon the child will shift in the care of any local NGO under the supervision of Child Welfare Committee.

According to the sources, an unidentified woman left the child in the ward no. 223 Pediatric Ward. After a few hours the child was noticed sitting alone on a bed by the hospital staff. When asked where the child came from, few people who were present in the ward said that a woman left the child.

The child is mentally disabled and also partially paralyzed.

A case under Juvenile Act will be lodged against the parents of the child, informed a CWC member.
