A 5 year old girl was found drowned in a water tank of her house situated at Indra Colony of Goverdhan Vilas on Friday afternoon. The girl was missing since morning and was later found drowned in the water tank.

Varsha d/o Bhagwat Singh, an alleged half witted girl was found drowned in the water tank of her house when her parents were searching for her since morning when she was found missing, said Sub Inspector Rajesh of Goverdhan Vilas police station.

Later the police was informed of the mishap and a team rushed to the spot. The dead body was shifted to mortuary but the parents claimed the body of the girl without postmortem, said SI Rajesh.

During the investigation it was found that the victim had gone off to sleep with her parents in their room on Thursday night but was found missing in the morning. Police is however, trying to find how a 5-year-old girl reached near the water tank of the house and fell inside as it is always covered with a wooden plank on top, said SI.
