A pregnant woman died after the jeep in which she was traveling fell down in an open well. This mishap happened at Damana Village of Falasia police station circle. Her body was pulled out after 21 long hours of effort.

At 8.30 pm on Thursday, the victim Nanudi (29) w/o Roshan Lal Damor was returning back to her home in Damana village, situated 60 Kms away from Udaipur.

Nanudi who was 7 months pregnant, had come to MB Hospital with her husband Roshan and one of her relatives in the jeep. On her return back to the village, Roshan (driving) could not recognize the open well in the corner due to darkness and the jeep fell down into it. Roshan and his 11 year old relative Manish however, came out of the well with minor bruises, but Nanudi could not survive.

The information of the mishap reached the local police station and a rescue operation commenced to take the victim out. The 21 hour long rescue operation led the jeep and the dead body of the victim out of the well. The body was later shifted to mortuary, said the police official.
