An 8-year-old child died on the spot after getting crushed by an uncontrolled truck in a freak accident that occurred at Gudli Power House Chouraha today morning. Three trucks were involved in the mishap that injured at least five people including two women.

An 8-year-old child died on the spot after getting crushed by an uncontrolled truck in a freak accident that occurred at Gudli Power House Chouraha today morning. Three trucks were involved in the mishap that injured at least five people including two women.

The accident occurred when a truck containing chemical substance was coming from Gudli Industrial area and going towards Zinc Smelter.

Consecutively another truck was coming towards Dabok from Udaipur. Both trucks were in high speed and were about to collide at Power House Circle. However, the truck coming from Udaipur in an attempt to save the mishap turned on the wrong side but suddenly collided with another truck coming from the front and smashed a motorcycle carrying a family.

A child identified as Rishabh s/o Upendra Vyas died on the spot, whereas Upendra Vyas (29) who was riding the motorcycle got injured including Upendra’s wife Indubala (25), another woman Logribai who was walking on the road side also got injured in the accident. All injured were rushed to MB Hospital.

The thrust of the collision was so strong that the driver cabin of the truck flung several feet high in air and fell on the ground. Drivers of both trucks are absconding. According to an eye witness Prabhu Joshi; there were four people on bike including two children, a man and woman and all were coming towards Udaipur.

Not much information about the truck drivers could be obtained as no one at the accident spot knew about drivers. However few people informed that one truck driver got injured while other driver ran away from the spot.

Vijay Singh Bagela, a social worker and resident of the area stated that the residents have complained several times about the frequent road accidents in the area and demanded speed breakers on road but no action has been taken yet.
