Surajpol Police has lodged complaint against a doctor for alleged negligence, during treatment which led the death of a 45-year-old woman today. The incident occurred at Bakhtawar Lal Sharma Polyclinic, at Bapu Bazar.

Family of the deceased patient has strongly protested against Dr. Chandra Prakash Sharma and blocked the Bapu Bazar road, even before lodging a FIR against the doctor.

According to Babunath, husband of the victim woman, Kankubai, resident of Bhodala village of Gogunda area, they had come to Bakhtawar Lal Sharma Polyclinic today morning at 9:15. After seeing her condition, she was asked to take glucose drip with injection, after that treatment, by the early afternoon her condition started deteriorating.

From there, she was referred to Kalpana Nursing Home. After reaching nursing home, the doctors declared her dead, almost an hour before.

Babunath returned back to Bakhtawar Lal’s clinic and blamed the doctor for hiding the death of his wife, who apparently died at their clinic, he also held them responsible for negligence in treatment.

Whereas, Dr. Chandra Prakash Sharma said that, after seeing the serious condition of patient, he directly referred them to private hospital, yet her husband and relatives took her to some other place.

“The lady was not well from last 15 days, after seeing her condition I asked them to rush to Kalpana Nursing Home, but they wasted their time in other hospitals, we did not admit the patient here.”, clarified, the Doctor.

Babunath threatened police to burn himself, along with the body of his wife in front of the polyclinic. After much discussion, police managed to convince him and shifted the body for post mortem and registered case against doctor Sharma.
