Bus-Truck collision at Pali kills 11 Pilgrims

In a fatal bus-truck collision at Pali, 11 pilgrims lost their lives. Two out of the 11 pilgrims belonged to Udaipur, while the other deceased were from Salumber.
45 people were also injured in the mishap which took place at Mandiya Bypass, Pali when the bus carrying all the passengers crashed with a truck coming from opposite side.
The bus was coming towards Udaipur from Ramdevra. Both truck and bus driver sustained injuries.
Two of the passengers who died in the accident are identified as Suresh Salvi and his daughter Nikita, residents of Avri Mata Kachhi Basti. Suresh’s wife Deepika and their younger daughter are admitted in MB Hospital with other injured.
According to sources, the head on collision was so stern that a part of the bus was completely damaged and bodies of the passengers were trapped inside. Villagers of Mandiya rushed to the spot and rescued the victims. All injured were rushed to nearby hospitals and later referred to Udaipur.
District collector has announced compensation of Rs.50000 to the relatives of deceased passengers.
