The electric pole which was partially collapsed last night caused major black-out in several areas for 2 hours last night; areas including Panchwati, Sardarpura and Madhuban suffered electricity cut. The linemen from electricity department are still working on fixing the problem, till afternoon today.

To avoid any further mishap, road traffic was diverted on a single lane resulting in slow moving traffic, in front of Meera Girl’s College.

According to sources, last night at around 10:15, an unidentified vehicle smashed the electric pole which ignited fire, due to short circuit, fortunately no fatalities have been reported and the fire was also controlled in time.

Fire and Rescue team, Police and linemen of electricity department responded the place of incident and took required action.

Gaurav Dave, JEN who was on the spot, told UT, “It will take another 2-3 hours to complete this work”
