A large portion of the wall that forms a part of Chand Pol entrance gate collapsed last night due to heavy rains. All top administrative officers reached the location to inspect the situation.

No casualties were reported in the incident but the question of liability, conserving the heritage architecture has risen once again. Centuries old Chand Pol gate, which is the entrance point of every tourists’ dream visit to Udaipur collapsed allegedly due to lack of maintenance.

District Collector Ashutosh Pednekar, ADM (City) Mohammad Yaseen Pathan and officials of Udaipur Municipal Corporation rushed to check the situation last night.
