Advocates of Udaipur Session Court demonstrated and stopped work for a day after a heated argument between an advocate and a clerk of court grew into a fight. The junior advocate Deepak Vaya alleged the clerk Bansilal Sharma for manhandling and hitting him.

The advocates under the banner of Bar Association boycotted work and demanded strict action against the clerk.

Junior Advocate Deepak Vaya has lodged FIR against Sharma. Vaya told police that he went to the ACJM court-2 to note down the hearing date for one of his clients during lunch break. The reader on duty Banshilal Sharma refused to let him know the date asking him to come after lunch hours.

Argument between the two on the issue heated to an extent where the reader reportedly slapped him. Vaya fell down and was taken away by his peers who separated the combating two.

The advocate lodged a complaint with the Bhupalpura police station on charges of manhandling. After the incident, lawyers delegation went to the District Judges’ chamber and marked their protest over the physical assault by the court employee.

A delegation of senior advocates Shantilal Pamecha, Ramesh Nandwana, Shambu Singh Rathore and many others handed over a memorandum to the DJ demanding disciplinary action of immediate suspension against the reader or to transfer him out of the district.

Meanwhile, the clerical staff too came ahead in support of the reader claiming his innocence.

The staff claimed that the advocate arrived during lunch time and Banshilal asked him to come after the working hour resume.

The lawyer misbehaved on the first part leading a heated argument. The advocates are arrogant and resort to unlawful means to get their work done at their convenience, counter charged the staff members.

The staff also held that the lawyers are in a habit of making their way, engage in frequent quarrels by demonstration of their strength and suspending work for no valid reasons which ultimately affects the common people who come to the court for justice.
