Policemen check the body (circled and inset) found in river today at Madri area

A large crowd gathered over the bridge near Madri after noticing a dead body lying in the shallow waters of Ayad River today morning. Police pulled the body out of water and moved it to MB Hospital’s mortuary.

According to Hiran Magri Police, the body could be of the person who had swept away in Ayad River few days back. However, the body is yet to be identified.

Divers pulling out the body from river

At around 11:30 am today, few people informed police about a body of a man seen caught between the rocks in river. Police arrived with the divers and took out the body.

Kailash Chand, C.I Hiran Magri police said, “The deceased could be the same person who had drowned in the Ayad River near Anand Plaza a few days back”.

Traffic on the bridge remained affected during the entire process.
