Goods worth Rs. 7 lac were destroyed after a furniture shop was gutted yesterday evening. Furniture, computers, printers and other items were destroyed after the shop, located near the Bansi Pan Tiraha was engulfed in flames caused by a short circuit.

Upon getting the information of the mishap, two fire engines were rushed to the spot and had controlled the situation in around 2 hours.
Kailash Somani, owner of the furniture shop, Sangraha Furnitures got the information of the incident through one of the neighbour while he was heading towards his house after closing his shop at 8 o’clock on Tuesday night. He immediately turned back, rushed to his shop and informed the fire brigade for immediate assistance.
Somani, who assessed the immediate loss to be approximately Rs. 7 Lac, said that the shop was having plenty of stock that included expensive sofas and chairs, etc, in anticipation of increased sales during the ongoing festive season.
