A car caught fire after it hit a Nilgai on national highway 76 near Village Vana. The driver of the car identified as Hiralal Sen was rescued from the car by passersby.

The accident took place last night when Sen was passing through the highway and suddenly a Nilgai hit the car. The driver lost control and hit the divider. Soon fire erupted in the vehicle.

A passersby rushed towards the burning vehicle and pulled the unconscious driver out.

He was given first aid at a nearby petrol pump and later shifted to hospital.
