A 40-year old man drowned in Goverdhan Sagar Lake today. The victim was identified as Vijay Singh, residing at Surajpol and was originally from Bulandshahar (Uttar Pradesh).

The body of the victim was pulled out by divers and shifted to MB hospital’s mortuary.

According to sources, Vijay a labour, and his friend Khemraj went to Goverdhan Vilas for some work but planned to have alcohol. After drinking heavily, they went to Goverdhan Sagar Lake to take a bath.

While Khemraj sat on the lake side, Vijay went in the water. Due to semi consciousness, Vijay started drowning but Khemraj could not save him because he himself was excessively drunk and didn’t know how to swim.

Few passersby saw Vijay drowning but it was too late as the victim had already drowned.
