Emergency team Respond to ‘Vague’ train accident Information Emergency rescue team of Railway Department responded after receiving information about an Udaipur-Ahmedabad bound passenger train hit an auto rickshaw injuring eight people.

The accident took place when the rickshaw was crossing a man less Railway Crossing between Umerda and Kharvachanda villages (12km from Udaipur).

The information was later revealed as a mock drill to check the efficiency of all the departments of Railways under emergency situations.

Harphool Singh Choudhary, officer in Railways said that the department got the information at 9:10 in the morning today. Various teams led by Harphool Singh Choudhary, Sohanchand Verma (Traffic Inspector) and Gopal Singh Yadav (DCMI) rushed to the scene.

Teams of GRP, RPF, Police, Regional officers and Railway Ambulance also reached the spot. “Our department is always prepared to respond such mishaps for medical aid and other processes to rescue the victims”, said Harphool Singh.

The mock drill was conducted under the directions of the senior officer D.K. Murari.

Railway department has introduced a week long ticket checking movement where all passengers were asked to check their tickets and action will be taken against any offenders. Appealing to the common public, Harphool Singh said that the movement is for the safety and security of passengers so I request you to follow the rules and make your journey comfortable and safe.
