A female social worker slapped a Block Development Officer (BDO) during the General Meeting held at the Zila Parishad today evening. The woman placed an allegation of misbehavior, mental and physical exploitation on the BDO.

The incident shocked officers of different government departments present in the meeting while the BDO stepped out of the meeting without any statement.

According to the information provided through sources, Gunwanti Joshi who runs a NGO and provides training to BPL women slapped Ramswaroop Prajapat, BDO Girwa when he allegedly remarked on Joshi.

While talking to media, Gunwanti Joshi said that, “I was continuously abused and harassed by the BDO and I also complained to Madhu Mehta, Zila Pramukh about the misconduct but when no action was taken over the matter, the BDO Ramswaroop Prajapat and Phool Singh S.D SY PO ridiculed me.”

Gunwanti Joshi also told media that the BDO used to ask her to appoint young girls instead of old age women in her NGO. Frustrated by the torture, Gunwanti gave a written complaint to Madhu Mehta yesterday.

On the other hand Madhu Mehta clearly denied having any knowledge about the incident and even said that she did not receive any written complaint from Gunwanti.
