Computer peripherals and UPS system of Vigyan Bhawan, MLSU gutted in the fire that caught the computer lab of college. The fire started today morning and soon spread in the corridor engulfing the UPS system and many computer devices.

No fatalities were reported in the incidence as the college was closed due to holiday. 2 Fire brigade vehicles responded on the scene and controlled the fire.

Professor Venugopalan, director of Vigyan Bhawan informed that the loss could have been more if flames reached the adjoining computer lab where many computers, batteries are other important tools and documents were kept.

“Over heating of the batteries is believed to be the cause of the fire”, said Prof. Venugopalan. The loss is estimated to Rs.2.5 Lac in the incident.
