Situation of panic arose all over Nathdwara on Sunday night when a huge fire broke out in the kitchen area of the famous temple of Shree Nath Ji. At the time of incident, more than 80 people were inside the kitchen but fortunately no one was hurt in the mishap.

A large stock of edible oil and ghee placed in the Prasad grah of temple gutted in the fire. But due to the quick response of the temple staff who immediately blocked the pipe line from gas tank prevented massive casualty.

It was initially assumed that the fire broke out at around 11pm due to short circuit. Fire fighters from Nathdwara, Rajsamand and Udaipur rushed to rescue. It took more than 3 hours to control the situation.

Around 7 vehicles of fire fighters from Udaipur responded to the situation and worked in association with their counterparts.

As per the temple authorities, the staff was preparing parasd for the next day when suddenly fire erupted due to short circuit. Soon the fire spread in the whole kitchen and headed towards the store where a large quantity of Ghee was kept.

The fire turned massive when the edible oil and ghee caught fire and few minutes later, the roof of kitchen blasted with a huge sound.

Collector Kailash Chandra Verma, Police Superintendent Shewta Dhankad and other senior administrative officials rushed to the scene.

“Though short circuit is considered to be the main reason of fire, but the investigation is still going on,” said Manjeet Singh C.I Nathdwara Police Station.
