A footwear shop at Mukhrjee Chawk caught fire this morning. Two fire engines rushed to the scene and took control after half hour of operation.

As informed by the owner of Rani Shoe Palace, Mukesh Bhatia, “The incidence took place today morning at around 11 AM when I noticed smoke coming out from back of the shop. I immediately switched off the main power supply but that didn’t help. As the smoke kept increasing, I informed the Fire Brigade.”

The actual amount of loss is not yet calculated but as per the owner, the material stored in the shop is worth lacs.
