Fuel Tanker catches fire at Udaipur-Chittor Highway
The Udaipur-Chittorgarh highway was gripped with tension on Wednesday after a fuel tanker of Hindustan Petroleum caught fire.
The Udaipur-Chittorgarh highway was gripped with tension on Wednesday after a fuel tanker of Hindustan Petroleum caught fire. Although no casualty was reported from the scene, the 8 tyres of the bus got burnt during the mishap.
The accident occurred on Wednesday morning at Balotada Police station circle when a speeding tanker of Hindustan Petroleum suddenly caught fire while heading towards Udaipur. The driver with the spotter fled from the scene leaving the vehicle behind. Soon a fire tender rushed to the site and controlled the fire. The traffic in the area also remained affected for around 3 hours.
To avoid any disaster, the police team blocked the main road and emptied the shops of the area, police informed. According to them, during the investigation it was found that the tanker was heading to one of the petrol pumps in Udaipur.
