A convict serving sentence at Udaipur Central Jail hung himself to death within the Jail premises. The incident occurred in the bathroom of Barrack No. 15 where the convict, Dinesh Salvi hung himself on the iron grill. Dinesh, resident of Dhapar Keri village in Rajsamand had recently been shifted from Mavli Jail to Udaipur and he was serving a sentence for sexual harassment. It was during the routine evening head count, that one of the inmates taking the count, found Dinesh missing. On searching, Dinesh was found hanging on the grill of bathroom at Barrack 15. The inmate immediately informed the Jailor. The Surajpol Police rushed to the scene with the Magistrate and will now be investigating the matter further. The reason for suicide has not come to the fore and the body has been shifted to the Mortuary for Post Mortem.
