An elderly man from Devpura Village is admitted in hospital with severe facial injuries after he was attacked by a leopard.

The victim Kalu Gameti, of Devpura Village under Sarada Tehsil (40km from Udaipur) was sleeping alone outside his house. Suddenly a leopard grabbed Kalu’s neck and mauled his face. Hearing the screams of Kalu Gameti, neighbors and family members rushed for his help.

Seeing the crowd, the beast left the elderly man and disappeared in the dark. The victim was rushed to the hospital.

Few days ago, an injured leopard was found from Sarada Tehsil who died yesterday. The animal was allegedly beaten by the villagers. Many villages under Sarada Tehsil are covered with dense forest.

Udaipur administration has announced Rs.2 Lac of compensation for the victim injured in leopard attack.
