A young leopard, 2 years of age died at Udaipur’s Veterinary hospital on Saturday night after he was rescued by the Forest department from Mangtia Khurd village of Rajsamand district.

The Forest team rushed to the location after getting information of the presence of the injured  Leopard from the villagers.  He was tranquilized and taken to the veterinary hospital at Udaipur but he succumbed midway and was declared dead on arrival by the Doctors of the Poly Clinic Dr Lalit & Dr Shakti Singh.  They also added that one of the limbs of the animal was injured but there was no fracture.

Assistant Forest Conservator, Shatrughan Singh Chundawat informed that the Leopard came to the village two days back and was spotted by the villagers at one of the farms.  After keeping him under observation they informed the concerned department on Saturday afternoon, but unfortunately the animal died due to hunger.
