Body of a supposedly deprived woman was recovered from Pichola Lake’s Imli Ghat area today afternoon. The woman is believed to have drowned in the lake almost 24 hours back.

The victim has been identified as Asha Kumari and her age is around 55. Ghanta Ghar Police has sent the body for autopsy and is searching for her relatives.

Asha Kumari, her name, is engraved on the hand. This helped police to identify the deceased. According to locals, she was often seen begging and wandering in the nearby areas of old city. She was mentally unwell and belonged to Gogunda on the outskirt of Udaipur.

Police believe that her death was due to drowning in lake and is treating it as an accidental death.
