A 55-year-old man committed suicide on Saturday 30th June by hanging himself from an iron rod in bathroom. The incident occurred at Hiran Magri, Sector-9.

According to the Police, the victim, Bhagendra Singh Jhala was working as an LDC at the settlement office and was mentally depressed due to some physical illness, which caused him to take the step.

The Police informed us that Bhagendra Singh was discovered to have hanged himself by his son Vishwapratap Singh when he went looking for his father in the evening at 4’O Clock in his room and then found him hanging himself in the bathroom. Vishwapratap had to break the locked bathroom door to get in.

Bhagendra was rushed to the MB hospital by his son, where he was given emergency injections by the doctors but was declared dead in a few minutes.

“Bhagendra had used a cloth rope to hang himself in the bathroom.” said a Police Official.
