A major accident was avoided today morning at around 11:15, when people offered their assistance by putting off the fire blazing the scooterette of a middle aged lady in the middle of Seva Shram over bridge. The fire was controlled by public and no injuries were recorded.

Kailash Kanwar (45), resident of Bathera Village, presently residing at Subhash Nagar was returning to her home on her Kinetic Style, while she reached Seva Shram over bridge her vehicle started smoking. Witnessing the smoke, Kanwar stopped aside on the bridge and sought assistance of passing by youth.

As the young boy and few more people tried to examine the smoke, suddenly the vehicle caught fire in its rear; though the fire was promptly controlled by gathered public.

According to the Kailash Kanwar, “I believe it was over heating of my scooterette that caused fire and it might have spread due to short circuit, but I am thankful to people for their help as it could have been a disastrous accident without their help”. Kanwar was carrying two 5Kg. gas cylinders on her vehicle.
