Grieving relatives of the victim

Body of a 19-year-old boy has been found floating in a pond like niche of Fatehsagar close to Rani Road cemetery, today afternoon. Ambamata police has identified the body of a boy named Tipu Sultan, who was missing since 11 Sept and a missing complain was lodged by his father Mohammad Shah.

Police has sent the body to mortuary for postmortem and later tomorrow it will be handed over to the family of deceased.

According to Ambamata Police, C. I. Radmal Singh, a passerby informed the police of a body floating in the pond close to cemetery today afternoon. Police then reached the spot and pulled the body out.

As per the age and physical appearance noted in the missing person’s complaint, police informed Mohammad Shah, father of the victim to come and identify if the deceased is his son’s body.

Shah, a daily wage laborer and resident of Malla Talai confirmed the body of his son. Tipu Sultan went out of his house on 11 Sept. afternoon and when he did not return till late night, his father lodged a complaint at Ambamata Police.

With this, the toll of drowning victims in last few days rises to five.
