The employees blamed council for her death and demanded compensation which includes cash, job for her nearest kin and exclusion of biometric machine. A protest was laid yesterday in front of district collector’s office and today morning several garbage containers were plunge down on roads.

Group of protestors on motorbikes were seen spreading the trash at Udaipol, Delhi Gate, Bank Tiraha and other places of the city as part of protest.

The Valmiki Samaj and association of Sweepers working under Udaipur Municipal Council protested against the death of a 35-year-old female employee who died on Monday 4th Jan while waiting in a queue to mark her attendance on bio-metric machine.

According to sources, the deceased Premi Bai, resident of Bedla died yesterday at Udaipol sector while she was waiting in the queue to mark her attendance. It is said that the biometric machine was not accepting her thumb impression although she attempted several times, this led to exhaustion and Premi Bai collapsed in the office and died.

The shocking mishap spread outrage among the colleagues who rushed to the hospital and later marched towards Collector’s Office where they demanded compensation and announced one day strike.

District Administration has assured to take positive steps towards their demand but also cleared that biometric machines are not going to be removed.
