Goods worth lacs of rupees were destroyed in the fire which erupted last night at Mahesh Provision Store, Fatehpura.

Goods including three refrigerators, furniture, number of food products etc gutted in the flames caused by short circuit. Owner of the shop, Sunil Das informed that the incident took place at around 11:15, just few minutes after he closed the shop.

In midway, he got a call from one of the neighbours residing near his shop about the fire. Sunil returned back but before he could respond, the fire had spread across the shop.

Two fire fighting vehicles reached the location and controlled the fire in 30 minutes.

According to Sunil, the loss is estimated to be in millions.
