Resident Doctors form New Executive Committee, decides to continue strike

The present executive committee of Resident Doctors Association was dissolved and the new committee was formed after the decision of ending the ongoing strike was not accepted by the resident doctors.

Dr. Kaptan Singh was removed from the post of president soon after he announced to end the strike.

Resident doctors are on strike since 29th January after one of the doctors was slapped by a patient’s attendant. Soon after the incident, doctors called for strike and demanded to arrest the accused.

Today, the former president Kaptan Singh and other members of committee decided to end the strike after meeting senior administrative officers who assured them to arrest the accused.

According to sources, many resident doctors felt the decision of ending the strike unacceptable and decided to dissolve the executive committee.

Dr. Rakesh Gurjar while speaking on the issue said that, even after providing cctv footage and vehicle number of the accused, police could not arrest them.

He added, “We are getting support from our associations in Kota, Ajmer, Jaipur and Bikaner too. Hence we will not end the strike till the accused is not arrested”.
