Rabindra Nath Tagore Medical College Academic Council meeting that was scheduled to be held today has been postponed and will now be held on Friday 12th July. In this meeting, the top administrative authorities will take their final decision on the dreadful assault that occurred few days back when a third year student bit off junior student’s ear.

As per Dr S.K. Kaushik, Principal, RNT Medical College, the Academic Council will take a final decision on the action against the accused student in the meeting tomorrow. Also, the next course of treatment for the victim’s treatment will also be taken up.
Dr Kaushik informed UT correspondent that the dead part of victim’s ear had to be removed via surgery to prevent the risk of infection.
According to sources, a police complaint has already been lodged in the case, and the college administration is also in the mood to take strict action against such a heinous incident that has tarnished the image of college and students. The accused in on the run.
The victim Sushil Kumar, second year student had fight with Anil, a third year MBBS student. Sources said both were allegedly in a drunken state and started fighting over petty issue.
In the fight, Anil bit off Sushil Kumar’s ear and fled away from the scene. Sushil was rushed to the hospital and surgery performed immediately.
Media reports also indicate that college administration might take action against both the students.
