11 year old school student died today after falling from the auto-rickshaw today. He was returning home from school in the auto-rickshaw in which he used to commute daily. Later, a case was lodged by the furious family members against the auto-rickshaw driver.

Victim, Bavesh Meghwal, was studying in the 4th standard at Vikas Vidhya Mandir school situated at Eklingpura. He fell from the auto rickshaw at Eklingpura Circle while returning towards his house at Lakadwas area of the Udaipur.

The heart breaking mishap occurred today afternoon at Eklinpura circle when the auto-rickshaw in which the victim was sitting suddenly jumped over a speed breaker. The kid, sitting on the edge of the auto-rickshaw, lost his grip and fell due to the sudden jerk. The fall resulted in severe head injuries and the victim was rushed to M.B. Hospital where he died during treatment.

UT View: We probably don’t need any more casualties for the administration to wake up and take strong steps to ensure safety of students travelling to school on auto rickshaw. Safety grills on either side of the gate and a tab on maximum number of students per auto have to be the starting points
