Truck carrying Cattle caught fire, Kills 68 Cows
A short circuit in a high voltage transformer resulted in a freak accident which resulted in the gutting of a truck carrying 70 Cows, of which 68. Were burnt to death.
A short circuit in a high voltage transformer resulted in a freak accident which resulted in the gutting of a truck carrying 70 Cows, of which 68 were burnt to death.
The truck, on its way to Dungarpur and then to Gujarat, was travelling on National Highway no. 8, and when near Bichiwada, it crossed a transformer installed on the road side the moment it caught fire.
This fire engulfed the truck, killing 68 Cows in the truck. The driver of the truck fled from the spot.
Passersby informed the Police and a fire fighting team was rushed to the spot. The fire was doused in 30 minutes, but only 2 of the 70 cattle could be rescued.
These cattle were sent to a nearby rehab center, while the Police lodged a case of illegal cattle trafficking against the owner of the truck.
Police also informed that due to the mishap the traffic remained affected for more than an hour and everything went back to normal when police reached the spot.
